2. They wrote essays for a diagnostic test.
3. I created rubrics based on Write to be Read (2nd Ed.) by William Smalzer (2005). The students will use the rubrics to evaluate other students' essays. (

5. The instruction given to the students is the following:
"Evaluate 4 essays with the rubrics. If your evaluation scores are very similar to the instructor's scores, you will receive an extra credit. Complete the Excel spreadsheet and email it to the instructor."
